SO WHY IS IT SO DIFFICULT TO CREATE CHANGE?
Creating change is difficult because people are trying to create change using the conscious, analytical mind; and yet we know that most habits, beliefs and attitudes are maintained and stored in the subconscious mind.
Remember:
The conscious analytical mind will supply you with an infinite number of reasons why the change can or cannot occur and this is dependent on how co-operatively it is working with the subconscious mind.
That is why if you are asked: "Can you change a bad habit into a desirable one?" Whether you answer, "Yes, I can" or "No, I can't."
YOU'RE RIGHT!
So let me ask you:
Why do you do the things that you do, when you say you don't want to do the things that you are doing?
Why is it that we look at a cookie and tell ourselves we don't want to eat yet another one and we wind up eating it anyway?
Why is it that we say we want to get out of debt and yet we wind up buying that "whatever" we really didn't need?
Why is it that we say we will choose better partners in the future and we wind up in yet another relationship characteristic of what we said we did not want?
The reason you do the things that you do when you say you don't want to do the things that you're doing is because you have a conflict between the conscious (analytical) mind and the subconscious (intuitive-acting) mind.
Unfortunately many of us go through our entire life not really realizing the images and concepts that are being implanted into us by others as well as by ourselves in our subconscious mind. Inevitably we wind up being controlled by undesired habits, feelings of inferiority, failure and so on.
It is a well-known fact that wherever you are in life you are exactly where you are due to all of your combined processes from birth.
All of our own inner limitations are self-imposed on you or by you.
Fortunately the subconscious mind can be changed. We can accomplish this through a reinforcement procedure.
It is a proven psychological fact that any image, idea, or concept repeated to you, by you, or through you for 30 consecutive days or more at the subconscious level, automatically becomes a subconscious-acting habit, concept, or pattern without your approval or acknowledgement.
It has been written throughout history that whatever the subconscious-acting mind of man can conceive and believe, it will achieve. And whatever the subconscious-acting mind of man harbors, the physical conscious body must bring forth.
So, in order for you to not do the things that you do when you say you don't want to do the things that you are doing, you must not only create a desire in your conscious mind to stop doing these things; but you must communicate this desire to your subconscious mind, where ideas and concepts turn into action.
IT IS IMPORTANT TO REMEMBER THAT:
Regardless of how our lives may appear to be, and regardless of what we would like to think, our lives are ruled by our intuitive, subconscious mind.
HYPNOSIS IS DIRECT COMMUNICATION WITH THE SUBCONSCIOUS, INTUITIVE MIND.
Here is where the action happens. If at a conscious level, you desire to create change, then communicating that desire to the subconscious-acting mind is imperative!
HOW DO WE GET RID OF ALL THE UNDESIREABLE THOUGHTS AND PATTERS LODGED IN OUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND?
Let's imagine we have a 50-gallon tank filled with clean, clear water. Someone decides to dump liquid soap in the tank and stirs the water until it forms bubbles. If we want to restore the tank water to its original state, how do we get rid of the soapy, bubbly water?
One solution would be to dump all the soapy, bubbly water out and refill the tank. Since the tank is too heavy to pick up or tilt, one could just as easily get a hose of running water and refill the tank until all the soapy, bubbly water is replaced with clean, clear water. Though it might take us a while, we could eventually have water that is for the most part soap and bubble-free. The residue of the soap may still linger, but for all practical purposes we basically have restored the water to its original state.
We can pretty much do the same thing with old habits and patterns lodged in our subconscious mind. All the old beliefs of "I'll never be able to stop smoking...I'll never lose weight...I'll never achieve financial freedom...I'm not good enough...all those old beliefs that are preventing you from moving forward... It's almost impossible to dump them out of your subconscious mind all at once. But you can certainly start pouring in more desirable thoughts that the subconscious mind can now put into action.
This is where hypnosis can be of great benefit to you.
During hypnosis you are in a physically and mentally relaxed state. In this relaxed state your state of suggestibility is heightened. New concepts, beliefs, and conscious desires introduced at this time are more likely to hold and to result in positive action because they are being presented to your subconscious mind.
Some people may think that they cannot be hypnotized and that hypnosis will not work for them. Really, almost anyone can enter a hypnotic state. The most important factor will be your desire. For thousands of years, people have recognized the power of hypnosis to enhance learning, heal emotional scars, improve performance, change habits and speed the healing process. It was in 1958 that the
American Medical Association recognized hypnosis as a valid therapeutic tool. Science is only now beginning to understand the tremendous power the subconscious mind yields.
I believe hypnosis is a most gentle, relaxing, and effective therapy. It is non-invasive and can bring about relatively quick results. Some people believe that if they allow themselves to be hypnotized they may never wake up or get stuck in a "trance." Personally, I believe that many of us are in trance every day of our lives. We have become creatures of habit, repeating the same thoughts in our minds over and over again. Many of these thoughts are often negative: "My life sucks...boy, is my memory getting bad...I'll never reach my goals"
... Hypnosis actually gets you out of your daily trance, allowing you to live fully and in the moment.
